Role Description

The marketing writer creates compelling, donor-centered content that advances HOPE’s mission across integrated marketing campaigns and development efforts. This role is responsible for both strategic storytelling and the careful execution of high volume, short-form content—including event invitations, emails, and print and digital assets—requiring strong attention to detail and consistent proofreading. Working cross-functionally, the marketing writer delivers clear, engaging copy that strengthens HOPE’s brand voice and inspires generosity in support of breaking generational poverty through the Gospel.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and contribute to the fulfillment of HOPE International’s mission and vision
  • Content creation and storytelling across media formats
  • Develop donor-centered content that advances HOPE’s marketing and fundraising priorities across a variety of formats and media, including print, digital, and video
  • Translate complex programs, impact data, and theological concepts into clear, compelling narratives tailored to specific audiences and channels
  • Contribute to integrated campaigns by creating copy that supports email, web, social, video scripts, print collateral, and other marketing assets
  • Maintain a consistent brand voice and messaging aligned with HOPE’s mission of breaking generational poverty through the Gospel
  • Use AI as a creative thought partner to efficiently produce high-quality content that integrates marketing best practices with HOPE’s brand and voice
  • Short-form content production and execution
  • Produce high volume, short-form content such as event invitations, emails, social media captions, landing page content, video captions, and other tactical marketing materials
  • Adapt messaging for different formats, channels, and media requirements while maintaining clarity, accuracy, and effectiveness
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, providing timely and reliable content support for campaigns, events, and initiatives
  • Proofreading, quality control, and collaboration
  • Perform meticulous proofreading and editing to ensure accuracy, clarity, tone, and brand consistency across print, digital, and video-related materials
  • Collaborate closely with marketing, development, and cross-functional partners to review, refine, and finalize content
  • Support ongoing improvement of content processes, templates, and style standards to enhance quality and efficiency
  • Content collection and asset management
  • Support content collection efforts by processing, organizing, and cataloging written, visual, and video assets for future use
  • Ensure content is accurately tagged, stored, and documented according to established standards to support discoverability and reuse
  • Partner with marketing and communications team members to maintain up-to-date content libraries that enable efficient storytelling and campaign execution

Qualifications

  • Personal confession of Christian faith and commitment to the mission and vision of HOPE International
  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling content for a variety of audiences, formats, and media (including print, digital, and video)
  • Exceptional attention to detail, with proven ability to thoroughly proofread and edit high volume content for accuracy, clarity, tone, and brand consistency
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple projects, deadlines, and revisions simultaneously
  • Ability to produce both strategic storytelling and short-form, tactical content such as event invitations and donor communications
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging AI as a creative thought partner to increase efficiency and align content to marketing best practices
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, development, and creative partners
  • Capable of processing, organizing, and cataloguing content assets in support of ongoing marketing and storytelling needs
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to receive and incorporate feedback with professionalism and flexibility
  • Self-directed, dependable, and able to balance creativity with operational rigor
